Kayaking with Sea Otters!
Come along as we take you to the calm and serene waterways of one of the Bay Area's
top rated kayaking destinations. This beginner 3-hour tour will take us along the
undisturbed channel-ways of Moss Landing.
What to expect:
We'll start our tour with a 15 minute orientation session, where a professional guide will explain and demonstrate basic paddling techniques and security measures. Then off we go into the big blue sea! No previous kayaking experience is necessary. This is an easy beginner tour and we will teach you all the skills you will need to know for the trip. We will be using double seat kayaks so nobody has to paddle alone!
Because there are no roads or power boats allowed, Elkhorn Slough is typically teeming with wildlife. On its shore lies Moss Landing Wildlife area, a 728 acres wildlife preserve that holds California's largest unaltered salt march. At this time of the year, there are generally several different migrating shore birds and waterfowls coloring the sky and a wide variety of marine life such as otters, harbor seals, and sea lions.
And it doesn't end here! After all that paddling, we'll need some time to recover, so we'll go for a post-kayak dinner at an amazing seafood restaurant nearby, with the freshest oysters, crab, and fish you can find!
Still not sure you want to join? Watch our video from our last trip in January...see you on the water!
