BIKING IN ANGEL ISLAND
Join UD on a beautiful bike
ride on Angel Island, often referred to as the Jewel of the San
Francisco Bay!
We'll be biking along beautiful trails in the woods while starring at stunning picture-postcard panoramic views of the
entire Bay, including the Golden
Gate Bridge, San Francisco Skyline, Marin, and Mt. Tamalpais!
What to expect:
We'll meet up at the Clubhouse and take a 30-min ferry to Angel Island. Once we get there,
we'll start biking along the bikers path. This route hugs the coastline of the Island and leads to all of the island's beaches and historical sites. We'll see great
views of Golden Gate, Bay, Richmond/San Rafael, San Mateo and the
Dumbarton bridges.
We'll also cycle past the Immigration Station and Ft.
McDowell Chapel, where we'll get great views of the seals and the
rest of the Bay. We will then head through the campsites, along past the
GG Bridge and West Garrison camp Reynolds.
Difficulty: This ride is 5 miles long with some moderate hills. We will follow bike trails and we will go on a slow pace, so this ride is open to all regardless of your biking level!
Attire: Prepare for hot and cold weather. Dress with layers!
