Spelunking! aka Cave Crawling

Back by popular demand, Urban Diversion is once again taking our members to explore the dark depths of the earth in California's Central Valley. This will not be your normal caving experience. We will explore the cave by the light of our headlamps as we steep-slope climb with ropes, rappel into shafts and crawl on our stomachs! We will have an experienced guide but also the independence to explore the cave based on our own curiosity.

Most areas are undeveloped, so there are no lights, stairs, or walkways. This underground environment boasts stunning stalactites and ravines, which serve as habitat for bats and other rare underground species. This trip is conducted by experienced, highly trained guides. No experience is necessary. Gloves, hard-hat with light, and coveralls are provided.

Can I do this? This event is similar to Scuba Diving (without the water) as far as endurance and mental health. It will go down as one of the best things you have done in your life!

Note: This trip goes on RAIN OR SHINE.

Health Requirements: Cavern exploration requires good health and stamina. Those with chronic conditions such as heart and lung problems, or pregnancy, impaired mobility, or excessive weight should not attempt the adventure. Eat a good breakfast before you arrive.

Attire: Wear old clothes: pants and long sleeve shirts for the cave crawl and bring a COMPLETE change of clothes for afterward.

After the event, we will have the option of keeping our adrenaline high by participating in the climbing tower or double zipline located at the caverns!  Both of these options are NOT included in the event price and are up to each member to pay for should you choose to do them.  $39 for Zipline and $5 for the Climbing Tower.
