We’re looking for awesome members to help us build our community and encourage more adventurous lifestyles through hosting fun UD events! If you are passionate about being involved in creating great experiences, making new connections, and receiving additional membership discounts and benefits, we want you to join our team of incredible UD Hosts.
What to Expect:
A fun night of games with friends, and the perfect setting for learning information on how to become a UD host or co-host for future events! We are meeting at the Hotel Zetta Playroom! This is an awesome meeting space that offers a full bar, tons of comfy couches and fun seating areas, pool tables, shuffleboards, and a two story Plinko wall (yes, like The Price is Right). Not only will be be going over hosting information and answering all your awesome questions, we will mingle and have a fun game night with friends!
What is a Member Host?
Member Hosts are members just like yourselves that help us with hosting our fun and exciting events each month. There are various levels of involvement that you can choose from. Some member hosts only choose to host events. Others will get more involved in the planning phase and help us design events related to their unique skills, talents, passions, and hobbies. Your level of involvement is completely up to you.
Who would make a great member host? A UD member that has a passion for providing amazing experiences and making new connections! You can host individual events or recurring series of events that you are passionate about. We can help design events around you and your interests. If you have a great idea you'd like to add to our events calendar, let's work together to make it a reality!
Why we want you:
We're looking for members who are adventurous, self-motivated, social butterflies, detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, resourceful, proactive, good in fast-paced environments, energetic, and possess the ability to bring a positive energy to any group. We want an organized, personable host who’s good with people from all walks of life, and can add their own flair and passion to events.
Member Hosts should have:
- Experience hosting/coordinating groups of people (preferably in outdoorsy/active situations)
- Knowledge of NorCal or ability to familiarize quickly
- A zest for life
- Personal desire to get out and explore more
- Ability to manage money and stick to a budget
- Personal Transportation
- Attended at least 3 to 5 events prior to hosting
HOSTING BENEFITS*
Maybe hosting fun events is enough of a reward, but we still want to show you our appreciation! You aren’t just a member - you go the extra mile to make events great and bring people together to create a sense of community in your city, and that deserves a little extra something.
Event credit: For each non-ticketed event hosted, we’ll give you UD credit to use for future event registrations
Free Tickets/Rentals: For ticketed events like horseback riding, ropes courses, adults only museum nights etc, the cost for you to participate in the event will be covered in lieu of event credit. If an event falls under this category, we will confirm it with you before you agree to host.
Fun Budget: For social events centered around food and drink, hosts can be reimbursed for up to $20 for their personal food and drink purchases. This is in addition to the standard event credit.
Free Membership (the 6for6 Program): Once you host 6 events in a series, you will receive 6 months of standard membership free! An event series is any recurring event scheduled at regular intervals. This could be as simple as a bi-weekly Taco Tuesday mixer, or as complex as a monthly member-taught outdoor survival skills class.
