ANNUAL YOSEMITE VALLEY
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND with High Country Hike and Half Dome Summit Climb Memorial Day Weekend 2016
CAMPING IN THE VALLEY! Our group managed to get some incredibly hard to come by permits for the valley, 6 months early! This will be an amazing 3 day weekend! Join Club Urban Diversion Active for one of our most popular events of the year, Memorial Day weekend in Yosemite Valley. We have several campsites located throughout the same campground in the heart of the Valley.. the most gorgeous hiking trails in one of the most scenic locations on the planet. Come see why John Muir said that "no temple made by hands [can] compare with Yosemite." Because this trip is so popular, UD created two sub-groups. Hard Core Adventurers - Those that want a more adventurous and active weekend will make a few hikes the weekend including one to the top of Half Dome (We did get permits this year..... when you register please make a note on your registration if you are interested in Half Dome) Rock climbers bring your gear! Regular Warriors - We will do a couple shorter hikes, including a hike down from the top (with a bus ride to the top). We will spend a lot of time in the valley though, and if we have the opportunity to visit the High Country outside of the Valley. Yosemite's most recognized landmark. Weekenders - Not feeling like workin up a sweat and more into a relaxing holiday? No problem! Chill at the campsite in a hammock, grab an ice cream or espresso at Curry Village or join us for a inner tube float down the lazy river or even book a massage at the Ahwanee.... there is plenty to do in Yosemite even if you arent ready to work!
What to expect: This is the valley, we are not roughing it, there are 10,000 other campers, you can walk to a restaurant. Even though we'll have a more active day time agenda for the weekend, there will still be plenty of time to hang out with other UD members, relax by the river and enjoy food and drink in camp. The evenings can be pretty wild with camp fires, music, drinks and a great circle full of laughing and fun.. even other camps come join us. DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMP CHAIR! Also there is a bit of competition for who has the nicest most decorated tent.

- Maps, logistical support for hikes
- Snacks and water for hikes
- A Yosemite insider view of the park
Attire: Please pack in layers with synthetic outdoor wear for both dry and wet weather. Weather in May can vary greatly. As the date approaches, UD will update members with weather forecasts and specific attire needs. Please bring comfortable camp shoes and sturdy, comfortable hiking boots. If you are coming with new boots, please be sure to have broken them in on previous excursions prior to coming to Yosemite. |
