When a place is described as "Worlds Greatest", it's always worth checking out. Many describe the view from the top of Mt. Diablo as one of the world's greatest panoramas. On a clear day, the Sierra Nevada range is plainly visible. The best views are after a winter storm; with clear skies so a snowy Sierra shows up better! You won't want to miss this trip!

Basic Details:

 World's (second) Greatest Panorama:
Mt. Diablo
Campout

Did you know:  According to scientists, only at Mt. Kilamanjaro's summit can you see more of the Earth Surface, and Mt Diablo is much closer!

Mount Diablo offers endless natural beauty: lush wildflower-strewn meadows, narrow canyons with stream side vegetation, magnificent groves of Coulter pines, productive birding habitat, rugged mountain scenery and endless sun-swept panoramas stretching from the Golden Gate to the High Sierra.

What to Expect:

This is going to be an adventure filled weekend getaway! Enjoy panoramic views and laughs with old and new friends. We will be camping at Juniper Campground near the summit of Mount Diablo. It is an easy drive to the campground, which will be our base camp for a wonderful weekend of exploring hiking trails. During the day, we will take on some moderate day hikes, and come night, we will enjoy the amazing sunset view from out campsite. We will cook up hearty meals around the campfire, including s'mores of course, spending the rest of the evening enjoying each others company.

Hiking:

Day 1: Hiking a 1.5 mile moderate trail to see the caves and explore the amazing vistas. We will then head to the summit as a group (in cars), this is also a great place to see wildflowers!

Day 2: Juniper to Summit Trail, Gorgeous Views along a 4.3 mile trail.
