Why we LOVE celebrating Pride
Pride Month is a time for LGBTQ+ and allies to come together, commemorate the history, struggles, and achievements of the LGBTQ+ rights movement, and promote equality, acceptance, and visibility.
Pride Month originates from a very important moment in history, the 1969 NY Stonewall riots. During these riots, LGBTQ+ individuals fought against police discrimination and harassment, marking a significant turning point in the fight for equal rights. Pride Month serves as a tribute to the bravery and resilience of those involved in the Stonewall riots and the ongoing efforts to advocate for equal rights. Our Pub Crawl is more than just a night out; it's a celebration of love, acceptance, and the incredible LGBTQ+ community!
What's the plan?
The Castro District is where we will be celebrating, as it is one of the first openly gay neighborhoods in the United States. We are planning to meet at Pilsner Inn, where we will assemble & enjoy some pre-gaming drinks before taking to the streets of the Castro District for the bar crawl. We have planned to go to four different bars and intend to spend a little over an hour at each, depending on the vibe!
