Get ready to immerse yourself in a world of towering giants, where trees reach heights of over 370 feet! Wander along scenic trails that meander through ancient groves, and prepare to be amazed by iconic sights like the Avenue of the Giants! Humboldt Redwoods State Park promises an unforgettable camping journey, exploring the giant redwood trees and lush greenery, making unforgettable memories along the way!
What to Expect:
A chance to fully experience the true Northern California in all its beauty and serenity! Some of the redwoods are estimated to be 1,500 years old. That's pretty darn old - considering how well many people can keep house plants alive.
If the amazing hikes aren't enough - we will have the chance to relax on the banks of the South Fork of the Eel River. The perfect spot for swimming and soaking up the sun. Bring an inner tube for lounging!
If you've never been to this area, the size and density of the giant trees is nothing short of spectacular. This area boasts the highest concentration of over 350ft trees in the world! At 350 feet, it's as high as a 35-story building, 45 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty from pedestal to torch, and more than twice as high as Niagara Falls.
Not to mention, we are staying in a beautiful campground that is right in the middle of the park.
Itinerary:
Friday:
We will meet up at our campsite in the evening. We will set up our tents, meet other campers. Your host will prepare dinner as the sun sets, and we will sit around a campfire and unwind. If you plan to arrive to camp after 7pm, please pick up dinner on your way to camp.
Saturday:
Saturday, we will be waking up at the campsite and enjoy a delicious breakfast together!
Then off for our days adventure - exploring the beautiful redwoods with a couple gorgeous hikes (there are a few options to choose from, and most are easy-moderate levels with gorgeous sites and epic nature). After the afternoon hike, we will head down to the river where there is a great swimming hole to relax the day away on the beach. We will swim in the water and bask in the sun!
Then it is time for our big family-style feast! Your host will take care of all the prep and logistics, just sit back and enjoy! Don't forget about the campfire and smores, and of course stargazing!
Sunday:
After a restful night, we will break camp and enjoy another hot breakfast. Don't fret, the weekend can still continue! Those wishing to go home we will bid them adieu. For everyone else, we'll have a group that heads out to the Lost Coast. There's a beautiful beach, a truck in a tree (it's exactly like it sounds), and for those up for a 6.5 mile hike we can check out the Punta Gorda Light House. Does your Hinge profile say you "like longs walks on the beach?" If so, you're going to love this hike!
