Join us for a weekend of Mussel and Seafood harvesting with a professional forager! Afterward, we will gather for a delicious seafood feast with our very own harvest! Plus, ocean-side camping!
 
 
What to Expect: 

Calling all seafood enthusiasts and nature lovers! Join us for an unforgettable Mussel Harvest Campout in the stunning Bay Area!

Picture this: spend the weekend immersed in epic coastal beauty, camping with friends, laughter, and the anticipation of a mussel harvest feast. As the sun sets, we'll gather around the campfire, sharing stories and embracing the salty breeze. Rise with the sun and embark on a hands-on mussel harvesting experience, guided by experts who'll unveil the secrets of sustainable foraging. Once we have our allotted amount of fresh mussels and other seafood, we'll return to camp to create a culinary masterpiece. Imagine the sizzle of seafood in a savory broth, perfectly complemented by the ocean breeze – a feast for the senses right at the water's edge.

But it's not just about the food; it's about connecting with nature, learning about sustainable forging practices, making new friendships, and creating core memories. Come be a part of our Mussel Harvest Campout – where the tides bring us together for a weekend of coastal bliss!

  • 1 night at a coveted ocean front campsite!

WHAT TO BRING: 

  • Personal camp tent, sleep pad and sleeping bag 
  • Personal day pack and water bottle 
  • Cameras, tripods, etc.
  • Head Lamp
  • Personal toiletries 
  • Hiking clothes, hiking boots, and a warm jacket for night time.  
  • Swimsuit and towel for the beach
  • If you need camping gear, like a tent, or sleeping pad, we have extra gear you can borrow. Please let us know ASAP as supplies are limited. 
  • We will send out a more detailed packing list as the campout approaches
  • BYOB - alcoholic bevs not included. 

 

ITINERARY

DAY 1 | Friday, April 26th

Arrive in Half Moon Bay after work on Friday

  • Arrive any time during the day
  • The end of the day means enjoying a delicious group meal together, a crackling fire & s'mores. 

 

 

DAY 2 | Saturday, April 27th

Coastal hike and seafood harvest!!

  • After a night of R&R, our host will make a nourishing breakfast and coffee to get you fueled up.
  • Today we will be rising early with the low tide, and starting our mussel forge when the ocean is at its lowest. Low tide begins at 7:45am, and will continue into the AM. 
  • After our mussel harvest, we will be doing a beautiful hike that takes us through a scenic coastal region with tons of amazing ocean views. 
  • The late afternoon is a great time to explore the beach, read a book, or nap in a hammock.
  • As night approaches, your awesome host will prepare a delicious seafood feast dinner and refreshments. 
  • Our weekend getaway is nearing its end. Have a safe drive, but before you head off, make sure to exchange numbers with new camp friends :D
