Fall Equinox Apple Picking Picnic
The Fall Equinox (aka the first day of fall) is here!!
Ring in the harvest season by... well, harvesting!
Autumn is usually overtaken by all things pumpkin, but there's another fall favorite fruit (yes - pumpkins are fruits) on our minds this year - APPLES!
Event Details:
Come spend a half day with us at a family-owned ranch only a couple hours from San Francisco where we'll get to walk through an apple orchard and pick our own apples to take home. The best part - pay only for what you pick. It's cheaper than the grocery store, plus you get to learn more about the foods we consume.
Once we've finished harvesting and worked up an appetite, we'll lay out and enjoy the fruits of our labor with a delicious picnic among the trees and hills. Lunch will be lovingly prepared by your host, so please mention any allergies or dietary restrictions in the comment box when you register.
But wait, there's more! A day of apples wouldn't be complete without fresh baked apple pie, made straight from the orchard, and cider to wash it down. We'll hang out and let our stomachs settle while we explore the local shop for yummy goods to take home, swap apple pie and cider recipes, and enjoy the good company and country air.
Have any favorite recipes using apples? Or maybe there's one you've been curious to try? Bring them with you to share and swap for other recipes!
