A Blue-Moon Italian Evening:
Bocce, Limmoncellos, and Cannolis
 
End the day with a beautifully lit European ambiance, with a gorgous Full Blue-Moon lighting up our night. Let's play Bocce with a classic Italian Limmoncello Spritz in one hand, and a popular Cannoli from North Beach's Victoria Pastry in the other!
Let's gather under the Full Blue-Moon for a game of Bocce Ball! Never played? To play Bocce, or lawn bowling, or petanque?
It's beginner friendly, start with simply throwing your Bocce balls as close as possible to the boccino ('little bocce'), or pallino ('bullet' or 'little ball'), than the other team. Bumper cars becomes a part of the game. This is such a fun group game... by the end of the night, we'll be speaking with our hands!
What to Expect:
- A mid-week social recharge
- A quick overview of the rules and flow of the game Bocce Ball, complete with a brief history of the game. Then Lots of short games on the two neighboring courts.
- UD will provide Cannolis to all bowlers for dessert.
- UD will also provide a Limmoncello Spritz that features Italian sparking wine and mint (mocktails by request)
- Eating an early dinner before hand is definitely recommended
What to bring:
- Water for yourself.
- Layers! It could be a little chilly.
- Other libations and nibbles that add to our evening are always welcome.
Fun Fact:
A Blue Moon occurs when there are two full moons within the same calendar month, adding a touch of enchantment to the night sky. Mark your calendars for the Blue Moon in 2023, and come have some fun with us! |
