Kayak Camping on a gorgeous Alpine Lake
Join us for a beginner friendly kayak camping adventure at the hidden gem of Utica Reservoir. Nestled in the Sierra Nevada, in between Yosemite and Tahoe, this pristine lake is a paddler's paradise, offering crystal-clear waters and secluded islands perfect for camping!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Join us for an unforgettable, beginner-friendly kayak camping adventure at the hidden gem of Utica Reservoir, tucked away in the Sierra Nevada. This pristine, motorboat-free lake is a paddler’s paradise, with crystal-clear waters and secluded islands perfect for camping. Yes, we will be camping on our own private island, surrounded by nature’s beauty!
Escape the city’s hustle and bustle and immerse yourself in the tranquility of towering pines and stunning granite outcrops. During the day, we’ll explore the lake’s many islands, hidden coves, and secret beaches, with plenty of opportunities for refreshing swims. As the sun sets, we’ll gather around the campfire under a blanket of stars, the Milky Way shining brightly above us. This isn’t just a trip—it’s an adventure into the wild, and an island camping experience you will never forget!

WHAT'S INCLUDED:
- 3-day, two night camping adventure on a secluded island of Utica Reservoir
- All camp meals provided
- Club group gear, including kayaks, paddles, life vests, camp kitchen, and campfire supplies are provided
- Exciting itinerary w/ kayak tours and island explorations
- Fun and engaging activities, including nature hikes
- A knowledgeable and adventurous host to handle all the logistics, pack the gear onto kayaks, and show you everything you need to know to make this trip an awesome success!

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED:
- Meals outside of camp, on the road, or in town
- NO Alcohol, BYOB
- Personal camp gear, see light below.
- Transportation to camp
WHAT TO BRING: 
- Personal camp tent, sleep pad and sleeping bag
- Personal day pack and water bottle
- Cameras, tripods, etc.
- Head Lamp
- Personal toiletries (no shower available)
- Hiking clothes, hiking shoes, and a warm jacket for night time.
- Swimsuit and towel
- If you need camping gear, like a tent, or sleeping pad, we have extra gear you can borrow. Please let us know ASAP as supplies are limited.
- We will send out a more detailed packing list as the campout approaches
ITINERARY
DAY 1 | Friday
Head to lake, pack kayaks and paddle to camp! 
- Arrive at the lake by 2pm + load up gear onto kayaks We ask everyone to arrive by 2pm, this way we can all kayak to camp as a group.
- There is option of arriving later in the day, please coordinate with your host prior to arrival.
- Try to call off work today so you can get a head start on your drive. If you're leaving from the city, it will be about a 4 hour drive depending on traffic.
- We will all pile our gear into our club kayaks, and paddle out to a gorgeous secluded island, and set up camp. Trust us, this is such an epic way to camp!
- The end of the day means enjoying a delicious group meal together, a crackling fire, s'mores and a bright starry night sky!
DAY 2 | Saturday
Paddle the lake, explore and hike!
- After our first night at camp, we will wake up with fresh hot coffee and our host will make a nourishing breakfast to get us fueled up. Feel free to take a morning dip in the lake.
- Today we will be exploring the lake's many private coves, beaches and inlets.
- The late afternoon is a great time to explore the lake's edge with a hike, or relax at camp, read a book, or nap in the hammock.
- As night approaches, your awesome host will prepare a delicious camp dinner and refreshments.
- We will start the campfire and roast marshmallows as the sun sets.
DAY 3 | Sunday
One more dip in the lake + kayak out!
- Our weekend alpine lake getaway is nearing its end.
- Your host will prepare fresh coffee and breakfast, and we will begin packing up camp.
- We will pack up the kayaks and make our way back to the cars.
- Have a safe drive, and before you head off, make sure to exchange numbers with new camp friends
