Basic Details:

Hidden Yosemite of the East Bay

Let’s head to the East Bay for a scenic and social adventure through one of the area's hidden gems! This 6 mile loop has just the right mix of shady canyons, grassy hills, cool rock formations, and creekside views.

What to Expect:

This moderate, picturesque loop hike will take us through Little Yosemite, a scenic gorge with dramatic boulders and cascading water features, and along the peaceful Indian Joe Creek Trail, surrounded by lush greenery and native wildlife.

We’ll wander through oak woodlands, trek past tranquil streams, and climb just enough to earn those jaw-dropping views of the Sunol Wilderness. Along the way, we’ll take breaks to relax, eat, soak in the beauty, and of course snap some awesome pics!

Why It’s Called “Little Yosemite”?

This East Bay gem got its nickname thanks to its granite canyon walls and creekside waterfalls that echo the grandeur of Yosemite Valley without the long drive. It’s the perfect local escape for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and weekend wanderers
