Marin Beach Hike
+ Roast 'em Toast 'em Bonfire!
S’more Than Just a Hike!!
This is an extra special bonfire adventure... and we are doing it up BIG! Beginning with a beautiful coastal Marin hike, keeping our eyes searching for whales migrating along the coast. Once we have worked up an appetite, it's time for a bonfire as we watch the sunset! We'll pull out the s'mores sticks and roast up some wieners. To top off the evening, we'll chase everything down with some ooey gooey s'mores. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the shooting stars!
The Perseids Meteor shower is considered the best meteor shower of 2025! This is going to be an epic night!!
 
What to expect:
Awaken all of your senses with this beach bonfire and hiking adventure! Our afternoon begins with a gorgeous coastal hike. Our hike is around 6.2 miles total, and has mostly flat terrain with a couple of little hills. After hiking along beautiful ocean bluffs, our host will show us the way to a incredible secluded beach that is beyond beautiful.
As the sun gets ready to set, our awesome UD host will break out the wieners and accoutrements (that's fancy talk for fixins). You'll have exactly what we need to make this evening magical... from the essential bonfire permit, the firewood, s'mores, and music. This is a great event for meeting new UD friends and bringing our community together, all while enjoying the warmth from the fire!
We'll stare up at the heavens and watch as small particles of dust and ice left behind from a comet crosses paths with Earth's atmosphere. This is what we know as shooting stars.
Note: We are looking for a member who is interested in helping co-host for this event... you would be able to come to the event for free! Our awesome host could use extra help. If you are interested, please message us :)

- This is a BYOB event (NO GLASS PLEASE)
What to bring:
- A blanket to sit on (OR a camping chair)
- Your own snacks for the hike
- Outerwear to keep you warm for when the sun goes down. Dress in Layers!!!
- BYOB (NO GLASS PLEASE)
- A flash light or head lamp for the way back is a good idea
- Fun beach games to share with your UD friends, especially if you have a favorite
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are allowed on Limantour Beach - southeast of the parking lot to the beach adjacent to Coast Camp. Dogs are not allowed on the Coast Trail nor all the way to "Sculptured Beach." If you bring your pup, you'll have to turn back from the hike a bit early.
