Get your butt across the Golden Gate Bridge and come join us for one of the coolest traditions on Mt. Tam: the West Point Inn Pancake Brunch Hike! We’ll trek 2.8 miles one way, through redwoods, ridge views, and rolling trails on our way up to the historic West Point Inn, where volunteers have been flipping pancakes for over 100 years. There’s nothing like earning your brunch with a beautiful hike and then kicking back with hot pancakes, sausage, and coffee overlooking epic views of the Bay and beyond. This is a Bay Area bucket-list adventure, you don’t want to miss it!

Mount Tam Pancake Hike

Hike through redwoods, coastal ridges, & Bay Area history for the best pancakes in the Bay... all with an incredible view!  

Hike, views, pancakes… what could be better??


What to Expect:

A gorgeous hike through redwoods and along Mt. Tam’s ridgelines, with sweeping views of the Bay, Stinson Beach, and beyond. We’ll meet new friends, soak up the sunshine, get our steps in, and earn a truly unique reward at the top: fresh pancakes at the historic West Point Inn. Yup, you read that right: today is the famous pancake breakfast at the top of Mount Tam. Expect to sweat a little, laugh a lot, and leave with a happy belly.

We’ll be taking the scenic route, about 2.8 miles each way (around 5.6 miles total). This trail is the perfect mix of beauty and adventure with shady redwoods, winding singletrack, and epic ridgeline views, all leading to the sweet payoff of a pancake brunch on the Inn’s sunny porch! 

Thank you to the West Point Inn for hosting this incredible community tradition and feeding us all pancakes for more than 100 years!

  • Trail snacks and waters to keep you fueled for our hike
  • Water (just bring your own bottle to refill)
  • An adventurous host to lead the way and share insider trail tips

 

 

What to Bring:

  • Backpack for your essentials
  • Layers, a light weight jacket just in case
  • Plenty of water (bottle or hydration pack)
  • Blanket or towel to sit on (optional) 
  • Cash or Venmo for your pancake brunch at West Point Inn 
    • $13 per plate
    • +$2 for blueberries (while supplies last)
    • Bob’s Oatmeal option available for our GF/vegan folks (while supplies last)

 

Attire:

Wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers so we're prepared for whatever the weather will throw at us! The trail is more so exposed than it is covered, so be prepared for both. Bring a hat, rain jacket, sunscreen and sunglasses! It's also the coast, so it could get windy. Again, LAYERS!
