Hiking Marin's Most Famous Trail: 

The Dipsea Trail & Picnic Lunch!

Voted best costal views in the Bay Area!

This trail is famous for a reason! Featuring gorgeous views of the ocean bluffs, waterfalls, redwoods, and the SF city skyline, it just can't be beat! Our day hike in Marin leads to an amazing secret spot with gorgeous views of Stinson Beach and the Marin Headlands... a perfect spot for a picnic lunch & pictures! 

This 6.8 mile loop hike will bring us over epic mountain ridges and into lush green forests with waterfalls and giant Redwood trees, plus we'll have an amazing Urban Diversion group to enjoy it with.

This particular trail is extra special, as it offers a secret rope swing overlooking the ocean! The rope swing can be hard to find, but your host knows the secret path to get us there :D  

What to Expect:

A beautiful, view-tastic hike around Dipsea and Stinson. We'll meet new friends, soak in the North Bay expansiveness and sunshine, get our steps in, enjoy the gorgeous views, and have a beautiful beach picnic together. Expect to sweat a little bit, but have it be well worth it in the end. With a little luck, we might get a crystal clear day and have views for days and picture perfect memories! 

The trail we are doing is called "Steep Ravine, Alpine, TCC, and Dipsea Loop." The Alltrails app says it is a 5.8 mile loop, but we have clocked it in at 6.8 (thanks again, Alltrails). The elevation gain is 1,443ft, and the trail is rated as "moderate," although we think it is are the harder end of moderate. That being said, the gorgeous views are worth every step.

What to Bring:

• Backpack for all your essentials
• Layers and rain jacket, just in case
• Extra snacks/food for the group [optional]
• Water bottle
• Blanket or towel to sit on 

Attire:

Wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers so we're prepared for whatever the weather will throw at us! The trail is more so exposed than it is covered, so be prepared for both. Bring a hat, rain jacket, sunscreen and sunglasses! It's also the coast, so it could get windy. Again, LAYERS!
